FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How do I get my MON back from the liquidity pool?
When you remove liquidity, the smart contract automatically redeems your Liquidity Provider (LP) tokens. The decentralized exchange (DEX) calculates your exact proportional share of the pool and sends both underlying assets your native MON and your custom ERC-20 token directly back to your Web3 wallet.
Can I remove only a portion of my liquidity?
Yes. You are not required to withdraw 100% of your pooled assets at once. Using the Monlabs, you can select the exact percentage of your LP tokens you wish to redeem. This allows you to safely extract initial capital or trading fees while leaving enough liquidity in the pool to ensure your community can continue trading your token without massive price impact.
What is the difference between removing V2 and V3 liquidity?
Decentralized exchanges on Monad typically utilize two different Automated Market Maker (AMM) models:
- V2 Pools (Full Range): These spread your liquidity uniformly across all possible prices.
- V3 Pools (Concentrated): These allow you to provide liquidity within a specific price range.
What happens to my token if I remove 100% of the liquidity?
Liquidity is the lifeblood of your token’s market. If you are the sole liquidity provider and you remove all of the paired MON from the DEX, there will be no reserve left to facilitate trades. This instantly halts the Automated Market Maker (AMM) and renders your custom token completely untradable for your community. Always leave adequate liquidity in the pool if you want your project to remain active.
Why is my "Remove Liquidity" transaction failing?
If you are unable to remove your liquidity, it is typically due to one of three reasons:
- Insufficient Gas: You need a small amount of native MON in your wallet to cover the network transaction fee.
- Locked LP Tokens: If you deposited your LP tokens into a liquidity locker to build community trust, you cannot withdraw your underlying assets until the time-lock expires.
- Burned LP Tokens: If you used the Monlabs “Burn LP” feature, your LP tokens were permanently destroyed. It is mathematically impossible to retrieve liquidity once the LP tokens are burned.
